Welcome!

As the owner of Gordon Pottery, I've been creating ceramic forms and glazes for the past 25 years. A long career as teacher and school administrator provided sufficient stress to encourage me to take my first pottery class at the Southwest School of Art and Craft many years ago and, since that time, I've developed a deep connection with this medium.

I know of no better way to be immediately mindful of what I'm doing--to be in "the zone"--than to be totally engaged with a lump of clay on the potter's wheel.  That kind of awareness has a way of revealing itself in the finished piece.

Whether it's utilitarian ware that's meant for years of service in the kitchen, serving pieces to show off the cook's talents, or decorative art to enhance a living space; each piece is uniquely suited for its task and finished with details which speak of its handmade origins.
